Free Training Opportunities for NJ Schools

(All programs are 1-2 hours in length and can be presented on school premises

between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday)

 

1.    PEOSH Compliance Overview

Participants will gain an understanding of the full range of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations that impact New Jersey schools.  Overview of the key requirements of each will be reviewed and resources for further information will be provided.  Common compliance and enforcement issues as well as practical guidance on cost effective compliance will be discussed to assist districts in proper planning.

 

2.    Planning for Laboratory Safety

Attendees will be guided through 29CFR 1910.1450 (the OSHA-PEOSH Lab Safety Standard).  We will also provide important information about the real life risks associated with the hazardous chemicals typically used in school laboratories. Common compliance and enforcement issues will be discussed and case studies will be presented.  Practical guidelines for appointing a Chemical Hygiene Officer and Committee will be provided.

 

3.    Indoor Air Quality Issues

Participants will learn how the new NJ Indoor Air Quality regulations impact on their schools.  Background on key indoor air quality issues including facts and myths concerning mold contamination.  Practical guidance on establishing a cost effective indoor air quality policy and related procedures will be offered.
